Shift Mod on Pick Animation

21 Jul 2020 17:13 #47612 by Algernon
Does anybody know an example of a mod-shift binding working on a pick animation anywhere? I know I've had trouble with it before, and thought I'd figured it out, but it seems I'm still stumped :(

Sure thing :) A mod-shift binding is a type of binding you can apply to a keyboard key or mouse click (and maybe a joystick button) which modifies the action if the shift key is held down. In my case, it is shift-clicking a switch to operate it the other way from a normal (not shifted) click.

Basically, it doesn't seem to work the way the FG documentation says it does.

I see Algy, but I believe I can't help really. :(

Example from the bourrasque for keyboard key binding.
Maybe you can find the solution in the input-properties.xml

I thought </mod-shift> only worked on a keyboard, not a mouse. It would be a clever thing if it was possible because they are physically separate devices with their own separate configuration files.

It works on Axis commands. I remember seeing it when I was working on the puma config.

The shift key itself does not generate a keystroke code on its own but maybe you could use this (though it seems a bit sluggish to change over)
var shift = props.globals.getNode("/devices/status/keyboard/shift");

Well, I thought I had made it work once but I could be wrong. I know that shift-click works on the knob/slider animation so perhaps I'm getting confused with that...
