All .amb in the Models folder has been corrected and uploaded..looks a lot better. I did notice that the backs/frames of the seats have no texture - poly.004 I renamed to "SeatBacks" and would have assigned them a texture but there doesn't seem to be one.

So I left it renamed as SeatBacks.

Cheers!

I might have had it at the time when we introduced the Belfast. Cant remember. If I had it it will probably be on the HD of my other PC somewhere.

I have a fix for the propeller animations - they were quite annoying.

Will have a look at some instruments next - at least enough to get through a FlightNight.

Warty if you fancy have a go at the Gear animation that'd be hugely appreciated. They've been a nightmare since day1

I'll do the gear animations at some point. They are aways a right pig of a job. Probably why they didn't get done. Instruments are my priority at the moment. It had some complicated stuff on it . . .

This should be enough to get it flyable - at least for a FlightNight. Only generic stuff for now (with a few hacks to cope with missing properties).

Thanks for the work so far Warty.
I've merged all the changes and put them in the dev drive for anyone who might want them there.

Does anyone have a HQ shot of what the panel to the left of the main PFD/gauges should be? Looks like a relatively simple panel that might be useful and a quick win.

Any stairway is a stairway to heaven if you’re clumsy enough.

The bit that Alex refers to is just a cut n paste plus a flip horizontal from a shot of the engineer's panel - see bottom left on this pic:

www.airliners.net/photo/HeavyLift/Short-SC-5-Belfast-C1/253170

That part of the cockpit really looks like this

It's unfortunate that that there are very fewgood pics out there of an original-style RAF version. The old MoD Pilot's Notes (A.P. 101B-0101-15) seems to me to be the best reference for this.

Bit more to it than that

Not so sure about the "quick win" theory :)

Landing gear doors and gear-retractions animated. New Belfast-C1.xml and belfast.ac files are the only things to change. Ready for testing and available from

github.com/John-Bray/Short-Belfast_mods

I sealed the front gear doors but the others will have to wait a while. Very fiddly.

Of course, there might be another option....the brass neck one!

Why don't ya see if you can connect with someone at the RAF Cosford museum to see if there's a photo archive or even if someone could snap a couple of shots?

I brass necked it into a visit to Draken Intl - the contract air support outfit, and got a tour of their hangar and even some free merch!

Worst they can say is no. Well, maybe bugger off. Or get tae f#@k. Yup, that's probably the worst. :cheer:
