Sunday Developers - Capture the Flag Testing

04 Feb 2018 11:17 #37617 by Algernon
If anybody would be interested in helping test the latest iteration of the Capture the Flag code, along with an opportunity to start modifying your own competitive warbird, I'll be running a host and making a special test scenario available at Llanbedr (EGOD) tonight from 7pm.

There aren't any, at the moment - I'll be helping people put them together later. Let me know your favourite single-engine warbird and I will stick the code in it to enable testing, if you're up for it :)

Probably easiest if we concentrate on one 'Bird for all - I'd suggest the 'Spit Vb as it has a billion livs.

Just as a favour for me (or anyone else that cant handle the Spit), please could you do the Airacobra as a back-up ?

Cheers,

Porcius

Okay, scratch that idea, the Bell P-39 is no more.

Us lesser pilots will have to get smart with the Spit.

Cheers anyway,

I think there is a P-39 at: helijah.free.fr/flightgear/hangar.htm
but the FDM is dubious and odd.

The in air quick refueling we tested Sunday was outstanding. Too much fun.

MAYDAY

I tried to try the Spitfire but I could not even get it started. CTRL-c reveals nothing I could operate and "s" for starting the engine does nothing. Tried also "}" and other stuff including hammering on the keyboard with both my fists.
Stick-controls work, flaps go up and down...that's about all. Also the bird rotates left-wise without reason.

On start-up I get following (remember, this is on Linux):

....
Could not find at least one of the following objects for animation: 'horizon-line'
Could not find at least one of the following objects for animation: 'PressureDial'
Could not find at least one of the following objects for animation: 'prophub'

Could not find at least one of the following objects for animation: 'coolflap.R'
Could not find at least one of the following objects for animation: 'elevator.R'
Could not find at least one of the following objects for animation: 'tailwheel', 'tailgear2'
Could not find at least one of the following objects for animation: 'canopy', 'noshadow.canopyglas'
