This place in the Alps looks like it could be a good chase night.

What to do for saturday.

I am thinking a strait forward flight, like fighter jets EGOD to LXGB with a fuel stop if needed.

What do people think?

I love EGOD to LGXB. I've got a route already made - low level from Wales to Scilly, then climb for mid-air refuelling over the Bay of Biscay and on to Gib.

I know refuelling is a bit of a faff, but I'm sure we could probably get two newly-liveried MRTTs in the air to spread the load... alternatively, we could land in France.

Neilson and I could liaise over the details and sort something out either way.

Sounds great to me! I might could run one of the MRTT's in a second instance as well if you tell me where you want it!! :)

We should see if we can check weather before hand...as I remember the last time we did a run with refueling we had massive clouds at the refueling altitude whcih hampered refueling.

Is it just the animation you're waiting for, and a test? I ended up getting heavily sidetracked last night, but am planning to devote this evening to that and other small jobs...

Considering that we'll need to slow down to tank, and that a trip to Gibraltar takes about two hours at Mach 1, we would need to shift a bit with a decent supercruise leg after refuelling. I suggest a high transonic coastal blast as far as Land's End, climb to tank, then climb again for supercruise to Gib. We could maybe save a little time by departing somewhere more southerly, perhaps Fairford?

But i though this was an escort mission, with tanking ?
The transports dont need to refuel for the trip, but the requirements for the esorts would now need a Mach 1+ cruise to allow for the catch up after refuelling.

MRTT needs AMB values correcting + animations before it goes public.
A better autopilot wouldnt go amiss ether, but not required.

I thought the transports idea was something separate, but I don't mind, if we think we'll fit it into two hours.

The tanker idea i like

If the MRTT is out could we use the victor?

Ooooh, that's not a bad idea at all. The MRTT isn't necessarily out, I'm pretty sure I can get it working in time for Saturday, but I quite like the idea of tanking from a Victor. I haven't flown it before, though, anyone know what the quality is like off the top of their heads?

How about Fairford EGVA to EGDR for air to air refuel then to LXGB Super cruse

I cant test the rout now and do a AI tanker refuel

Quick one will the Tornado F3 do this if so i will take

HSOTF does exercises regularly. We could always recruit a few mates to fill in the gaps where the newer pilots can't. If it's needed, that's all. We have a few good ones not doing anything right now, namely HSOTF13. Just an idea

Many thanks,

HSOTF

For my flight on the 29th March 2014 FGUK FlightNight i was thinking of a low level BAE Hawk flight at EGOD North wales.

Dose the smoke work for every one over MP?
If so would be nice to get some formation flying with the smoke going and some media.

At the moment my route manager is not working with my currant FG 3.0 install, just freezes the game up, should hopefully get a better install soon (if that works)

Not yet it doesn't, but I'll try and get an update for it out which will included the mp smoke fix before hand.

Is there anything planned for tomorrow?
If not, I'll put together something in the afternoon/evening ;)

IIRC, Gary was going to put something together - don't know if you had time for it G? If not, Tom, then feel free, or there's always the option of a free swim at Llanbedr or elsewhere - they are usually pretty popular...
