Is it necessary to remove released aircraft from the cloud? It just adds some work for people directly using the folder as hangar, wondering why can't I fly/see this one anymore...

Theres no difference except the additional viewpoints from the one that was in the cloud.
If we keep everything in the cloud AND the public hanger, then were doubeling the ammount of server space we use.

Well, by deleting it in OwnCloud you don't save any space, not immediately. The cloud keeps backup of the deleted files on the server, just as it keeps all the change history (unless it gets out of space quota, then it starts deleting old backups). I think it would make more sense to wipe the backups and set tighter quota if necessary.
See for yourself - in the web interface, button "Deleted files" in lower left corner. And that's just the deleted files, remember that every file still normally present has a change history.
My point is - we can still keep improving the aircraft, even after a release. It is likely some bugs will be found etc. And if possible, I'd like to reach a situation when most of our aircraft is in the cloud, because many tiny issues could then be addressed easily whenever you discover one anywhere. (For me it would be especially the file path case mismatch, which is very common).

There should be no links to the DR400 in the Gazelle at all. infact I can find no links to the DR400 in the Gazelle.

The Plane.XXX errors are coming from the moving map though. I have a fix for that which will be in its next release.

I just got a new machine this week that is capable of running FG. After a bit of surfing, I came across this site and I'd just like to say a big thank you - especially to the guys that made the Gazelle. Brings back some memories for me :D

Just a couple of questions:
What's with the extra struts to the skids? I'm assuming it's to make the model work?
Shouldn't the GOA (roof mounted sight) be a darker grey? In my day they were green . . . but then these cabs were black (rather than grey) and green.
Not criticism, just curious.

Not a perfect landing - but I've experienced worse!

The sight and other antennas/ sensors are not properly mapped with the texture yet.
The Extra struts and the interior colour were with the original model we were given to work with. It was basically the Civil version converted to look a bit more like the Military version.
I spent a lot of time tuning that FDM. It can do stuff it shouldn't do though.

So I played around with the Gazelle a bit and replaced the old shaders and texture maps with the new model combined effect.

It features a reflection map, dirt map and a cube map for a simulated world reflection as well as a normal map. (The normal map texture was already there)

So we go from this:

to this:

If you think, that is OK (reflection will be changed in future so that it is more defined in certain areas so that it fits the real painting)

Looks much better - well done B) If you are making changes to the FGUK Gazelle, could you please also:

1: bin the extra white undercarriage struts from the model. They were never on a production aircraft.
2: paint the VHF homing aerials black (the 'H' pair on the nose).
3: paint the AF120 (that's the roof-mounted sight) green.

Cheers :)

Oh, and a military instrument panel might be nice. Just saying :cheer:

The H + sight are not actually mapped.

+ I don't see this one in the cloud for testing ?

Not yet Stuart :) Sorry, I just wanted to see you guys reaction to the new shader. I need to map and texture the mil parts and add them to the shader. All new stuff to me. I'll put it up as soon as I am done with that. :)

Next step:

Milparts are repaired and texture mapped.

There were open parts in the upper vision device. It was not connected to the cell. Also there were two identical surface parts . I removed the inner parts as well as an inside boxy part. All stuff that doesn't need to be drawn. I needed to repair the topology on the cover parts of the vision device.
Everything is texture mapped to one special place in the texture. I also added a certain place on the fuseRM.png for the vision device.

Everything needs to be put on the new uber shader as well as getting some place on the greymap and reflection map so that the glass place in front of the vision device.

I removed the not needed struts under the cell.

The glass parts need to be assigned to the new glass shader (cubemapped) as well as the cirle hole in the back compartment needs to be put onto another texture map and assigned to a non alpha material/shader.

If you mean this:

It is covered by a wire-mesh grill. From memory (and it's going back a while) I would say it was about 10mm mesh and at 45 degrees to the horizontal.

It partly served as a crude form of "russian" air-conditioning for some avionics that lived in there. More importantly, it gave access to work on the avionics - particularly the engine start controller. It would be virtually impossible to see into it from the outside so I would suggest just putting a wire-mesh texture on it and forget about trying to make it transparent.

Edit: my memory failed on the angle of the mesh:
