If I fly it right, can I get to the moon in FGFS?

Not sure but Thorsten would be able to answer that one. He does the magnificent Space Shuttle thread, some of those pictures are AWSOME.

No, while the moon is a 3d object it's not something you can fly to that I'm aware of - it's probably just an object placed at a fixed distance & sized correctly

Find a square image map of the Death Star & use it to replace the one of the moon in fgdata & you can have some fun :D

I'll Develop a Space Station from the models I have and park it in orbit soon.....like an MP Carrier in Space is my idea....any reason that can't be done?

I just snagged a detailed/high poly 3D ISS from NASA....I'm building this one!! :woohoo: :woohoo:

I don't know anything about orbital physics, but if it still uses the coordinates of latitude, longitude and altitude in space, it can probably be done.

I assume the Space Shuttle uses an FDM which takes gravity into account - I suspect YASIM doesn't do that - but with the UFO FDM (which defies gravity) I guess anything is possible...

...in which case, I wanna do this...

Or this one....

I have another one that is *Huge* called the Zenith Station and the ISS. We'll see how they look as .ac files In Game. Lots of assembly required on the ISS as it's highly detailed and needs assembled by the various modules and such.

I converted and I'm fixing a *huge* 3D model of the Space Station V from 2001 Space Odyssey and had it in orbit last night. Hope to have it completed and "In Game" after this evening.

Wow. Just....wow. It looks cooler than I thought especially when a small city sized Station is climbing to 254 miles/1340000 feet thru clouds and such was worth the time.

Parking this in orbit and tracking her down is gonna be cool....Gif's to follow. :woohoo:

Then I'll start on the ISS and a really cool Station Zenith.

OMG, I have just thought how you could spin the space station AND have your ship lock its roll position in like in the film...

Only a tiny bit of Nasal :) As it would be an AI model, I guess, you'd just have a very basic script to spin the model and make the roll vector of the docking bay available as a property. Ten minute job!

The cool bit will be adding an autopilot function to ships to auto-align with it!
