Started on a scenery package for the helipads near Mount Everest. This attached .zip adds 9 helipads that you can spawn at and has a flight plan to do a circuit of them.

WU01 Phakding 8,571 ft
WU02 Kongde 13,614 ft
WU03 Thame 12,485 ft
WU04 Gokyo 15,592 ft
WU05 Gorak Shep 16,417 ft
WU06 Chukhung 15,527 ft
WU07 Dingboche 14,144 ft
WU08 Pheriche 13,796 ft
WU09 Tengboche 12,690 ft

Just needs custom scenery objects adding now. How hard can that be? :)

Current (Beta) version is available at:

If it only turns out to be very difficult I'll be more than happy. Though the Nepalese villages are very much variations on a theme. And the airstrips can be a bit basic

Next up: a bit of variety because they tend to go for brightly-coloured paintwork and crinkly-tin roofs

Three more styles, each of which can have the eight liveries.

That should be enough to start placing stuff on the scenery

First Beta version is now available for testing from

github.com/John-Bray/Everest_scenery

Each helipad site now has a handful of buildings surrounding it.

Can't imagine so - that's why I've had to fit a hot-tub. It's heated by dung-cake fuel - mostly from buffalo-pats.

Yep, or buffalos. All look the same to me. Just got to follow them around with a shovel to get free fuel

Coming soon: the Warter Feature

It will use the glacier-melt source that is used for brewing Wartsteiner Ale.

Copied all files in for_Custom_scenery/for_NavData/for_apt to mycustomscenery/NavDat/apt/
and all files in for_Customscenery/for_Objects/ to mycustomscenery/Objects/ .

But when I visit the helipads, I can't see them.
Is there more to do?

To make it work, you should have a structure that looks like this:

The "FG_Scenery" is just my own personal custom scenery folder. Yours will obviously have a different name.

You probably already have an "Objects" folder. If not, create one.

You seem to have realised this but (for others reading this) It is called "forObjects" to stop you over-writing the Objects folder - which may contain your life's collection of good stuff :)

A note for the technical-curious: the reason why "e086n27" is a symlink on the screenshot is because it goes directly to the GitHub-DeskTop folder so that I see/get exactly the same as what is on the GitHub download at
github.com/John-Bray/Everest_scenery
